About Nathan – Creator

Hello,

My name is Nathan founder of PleaceTree.com I am very excited to share my knowledge and experience in the great outdoors with everyone. Beginning  when I was young and continuing into adulthood that is all that I want to do is to be outside. Even in the winter when the tempertures are fridgid its still better to have the crisp refreshing air to stimulate the senses. I never did like forced air or flourecent lights what so ever. I was often a bit rebelous to have to sit in a classroom for so many hours as a child/teen.

My STORY

I was raised on a dairy farm in a rural country town in New York State. I  have always had  a love and admiration for the outdoors. I started climbing trees when I was 4 to 5 years old. My love for trees continued on throughout my adult life. I have a Bachloers degree that focused on Enviromental Studies. Soon after that I became an arborist who is a professional in tree care.

WHY I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE

The natural outdoors in mother nature is my passion. I made it my career to teach folks of all ages about trees, ecology, wildlife biology, fresh air and water quality. The concepts are deeply imporant to all living beings especially in such a wasteful society with the population increasing drastically. Mother nature can only speak for her self through the wind or weather events, but she needs earth educators to teach people of all ages how to respect and appreciate all that nature provides.

THE GOAL OF MY SITE

The purpose and goal of my website is to educate and indulge as many people as possible with my knowledge with tree’s. From being nerdy and learning latin names of tree’s like.

Giant SequoiaThis image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is DSC01480-1024x768.jpg (Sequoiadendron giganteum), The most massive single tree known and one of the longest living (to 3,266 years) The Genera Sherman tree is the most massive Sequoia (275′ tall, with a trunk diameter of 36 1/2′). the tallest specimen is over 311′. The trunk becomes butressed and enlarged with age. The bark is thick reddish brown. Habitat: Granite soils in mixed coniferous forest in a 280-mile-long band on the Sierra Nevada’s western slopes. Elevation 3,000-8,900′.

Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) or Coastal Redwood is the worlds tallest tree (Hyperion 380′) and one of the longest living up to 2,200 years. Bark is thick fibrous and redish brown. Habitat: Coniferous forests; endemic to Northern California’s 550-mile-long coastal fog belt. Elevation 0-3,300′

Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides), a deciduous conifer producing small, round 1/2″ to 1″ cones. It has a neat pyramidal shape in youth, maturing into a more rounded crown. The bright green, feathery leaves turn orange-brown or reddish-brown in the fall. Fast-growing and easily transplanted. This tree species was known only from fossils at least 5 million years old until several groves were found by a forestry worker in China in 1947. This “living fossil” is now planted world wide.

I also would like to  get folks climbing tree’s with state of the art gear and safety first climbing practices. I would like to teach people how to properly care for their properties with proper prunning practices. Lastly I would like more and more people to build tree houses to get themselves immersed with nature. Tree swings are another great feature to have around our properties for ourselves, our children, family and friends.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my site,
